THE POSITION
The County Caseworker 1 role at Huntingdon County Children and Youth gives you the chance to make a meaningful difference every day. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on supporting children and families by responding to referrals, conducting assessments, and assisting with service plans. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Direct Support: Provide guidance and services to children and families according to their service plans
- Case Reviews: Conduct reviews and judicial evaluations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Information Gathering: Speak with callers and respond to referrals during regular working hours
- Investigative Work: Complete investigations and assessments for assigned cases
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM; Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- On-Call rotations as well as home visits accommodating work and school schedules
- Telework: Caseworkers may telework on day per week/two days per pay period from home. However, requests to telework must be sent to the Director prior to being off to ensure that no more than 20% of caseworkers are working away from the office on any given day.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
