Internship Opportunity

Rising Star Resource Development Corporation (Rising Star) is partnering with the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet to sponsor two high school seniors for a year-long internship. Interns will be exposed to the non-profit space and daily business operations as it relates to recruiting, staffing, operations, and finance. This hands-on role offers real-world experience into how a non-profit runs behind the scenes. You will work closely with leadership to support daily logistics, team recruiting, event staffing, and basic financial tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruiting & Outreach: Assist in drafting job postings, reviewing incoming applications, and coordinating outreach to local non-profits and groups.
• Website Design: Work with our third party vendor to assist in redesigning/revamping our current website.
• Staffing & Coordination: Assist with onboarding new team members, and help coordinate staffing needs for upcoming events.
• Finance Support: Input expense receipts, maintain budget tracking spreadsheets, and assist with basic donor database entry under the supervision of staff.
• Operations & Office Maintenance: Help manage administrative workflow, maintain digital filing systems, and prepare materials for board meetings and community programs. Assist with general office upkeep (vacuuming, taking out trash/recycling, and keeping work areas tidy).

Expected Start Date: September 2026

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet (Grades 11-12 preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with basic digital tools (Microsoft Office, current social media trends).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in non-profit management, business, or community engagement
