This is a full-time, on-site Fire Suppression Technician role located in Pittsburgh, PA. The Fire Suppression Technician installs, inspects, tests, and maintains fire suppression systems, including sprinklers and specialized suppression equipment, in commercial and industrial facilities. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans and technical drawings, performing system troubleshooting, making necessary repairs or adjustments, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company standards and applicable codes. The role involves interacting with customers on-site to explain findings, recommend solutions, and ensure systems meet safety, code, and performance requirements. The technician works closely with project managers and other field team members to complete scheduled service, respond to urgent issues, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Hands-on skills in installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression and sprinkler systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, system schematics, and applicable fire and building codes.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills for mechanical and basic electrical components.
Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Commitment to safety practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to customer sites as required.
Prior experience in fire protection, fire suppression, or related mechanical/technical trades preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET in Fire Protection, state or local fire suppression licenses) are a plus.
Ability to work on-site, lift and carry equipment as needed, and perform duties in various facility environments.
