Cozzi Recycling is looking for a full-time Dispatcher/Transportation Coordinator to join our team in Bellwood, IL. This role coordinates daily transportation operations, supports drivers, manages customer communications, and ensures efficient load scheduling in a fast-paced environment where multitasking and problem-solving are essential.Responsibilities: The candidate must:Schedule and dispatch drivers for daily transportation assignments and monitor load and route progress to ensure timely pickups and deliveriesCommunicate with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding load status and scheduling changesOptimize routes and load assignments to improve efficiency and profitabilityTrack completed jobs and accurately update dispatch software and records; Prepare daily schedules, load reports, inventory reports, and operational summariesResolve transportation issues, delays, and customer concerns in a professional mannerCoordinate equipment repairs and maintenance needs with shop personnel and provide roadside assistance support to drivers when necessaryEnsure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standardsAccurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks and materials, maintaining detailed records of weights, tickets, and supporting documentationVerify material compliance with company acceptance policies and coordinate with yard personnel and drivers for efficient traffic flowProcess paperwork, invoices, tickets, and dispatch documentation accurately, and support inventory trackingAssist management with operational reporting and special projectsRequirements: The candidate will:Have 2+ years of dispatching experience in transportation, trucking, recycling, construction, logistics, or a related industryHave experience coordinating local, regional, or industrial trucking operationsHave strong computer and data-entry skillsHave excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilitiesBe able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Experience: Bilingual English/Spanish Knowledge of scale operations and scrap metal materials
