Overview Of Job Description:

To ensure the safety of students in the crossing intersection during the duty hours assigned.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Follows local, state and federal law and adheres to State Department of Education and local school board policy.
  2. Establishes and maintains good rapport with employees, students and community.
  3. Assists children in crossing intersections on the way to and from school.
  4. Enforces state laws regarding school zones.
  5. Protects safety of children at all times while on duty.
  6. Reports student safety infractions.
  7. Places speed signs and reports maintenance of same when required.
  8. Maintains district supplied equipment.
  9. Does not direct traffic.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Reports To: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Terms Of Employment: Work year to be established by the Board. Salary is determined by individual training and experience level on approved salary schedule.

Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.

ADA accommodations: Decisions regarding appropriate and reasonable accommodation(s) will be based upon the merits of each situation. The principal criteria will be that of effectiveness and safety.

This particular posting is for a one-hour a day position.
