Senior Internal Trust And Protection Analyst

The Senior Internal Trust and Protection Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks posed by employees, contractors and others with access to sensitive information. This candidate will also help develop corporate strategy, review policy and procedures, evaluate insider risk control gaps, and develop training related to insider risk and intellectual property protection. This role acts as a subject matter expert throughout the entire insider risk lifecycle. It covers detection, triage, investigation, case adjudication, and mitigation. The position requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills. It also demands proficiency in industry-standard investigation methods and working with cross-functional teams to improve Micron's security posture. You will balance robust security measures with maintaining a positive work culture and ensuring the preventive actions do not erode employee trust and morale!
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end investigations into the most sophisticated and sensitive insider risk matters at Micron, including suspected intellectual property theft, major theft, trade secret misappropriation, economic espionage, unauthorized data ex-filtration, fraud, and workplace violence threats.
- Develop and implement comprehensive investigative plans, including evidence collection strategies, coordination with Micron's various investigation partners, and structured witness and subject interviews using advanced elicitation techniques.
- Serve as Micron's liaison to the US law enforcement and intelligence community partners on matters implicating national security, economic espionage, or trade secret theft.
- Coordinate with international law enforcement agencies and government bodies on cross-border investigations and referrals, navigating complex data privacy laws and cross-border legal frameworks.
- Manage a concurrent portfolio of global investigations with varying complexity, urgency, and jurisdictional scope.
- Prepare executive-level investigation reports, threat assessments, and case summaries for presentation to senior Micron leadership.
- Identify systemic vulnerabilities and programmatic gaps surfaced through investigations and translate findings into actionable security recommendations for Micron leadership.
- Develop and implement awareness programs for employees, focusing on recognizing and reporting insider threats.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in high-tech investigations, intelligence, or insider threat analysis/investigations.
- A proven track record in working complex investigations across various business units/functions – preferably in an international environment or at a global company.
- Experience conducting/leading interviews.
- Strong ability to source and analyze data points to drive insider threat detection and investigations.
- The role requires excellent communication skills. This includes clearly explaining and visually presenting complex topics and analysis results. You also need the ability to write concise, accessible reports for the intended audience.
- Experience working with confidential, sensitive, or privileged information.
- Strong attention to detail, concern for data accuracy, and high personal integrity.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, and with various internal partners.
- Proficiency in applying AI tools and AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency, analytical capabilities, and business outcomes while ensuring responsible and secure use of AI technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a corporate insider risk, global security, or intelligence function within a large technology, semiconductor, or defense company.
- Solid understanding of open-source tools and open-source intelligence gathering techniques.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, networking, and various technical methods of data ex-filtration.
- Experience with (or general understanding of) digital forensics examinations and how to effectively bring to bear digital forensics in support of investigations.
