OverviewEnvironment North Carolina is hiring an entry-level campaign associate to help lead campaigns to protect our national parks and forests, fund wildlife corridors, protect native wildlife, support sustainable ecosystems, and reduce plastic pollution.From the Outer Banks to the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina features diverse landscapes, waterways, and wildlife. The organization aims to protect cherished parks and forests and keep water clean from plastic pollution while promoting wildlife habitat and healthy ecosystems.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild powerful coalitions: Reach out to a broad range of organizations and affected constituency groups across the political spectrum to demonstrate support for campaign goals.Earn traditional media and social media attention: Organize news conferences and write opinion pieces. Build a following on social media for the campaign.Organize events and work with volunteers: Organize webinars, community events and public meetings. Recruit organizations and members of the public to attend and participate.Lobby elected officials: Meet with decision makers—from city council members to state legislators—to advocate for campaign goals. When a critical vote occurs, demonstrate ground support to help line up votes to win.Research and write reports: Catalog and analyze data relevant to issues and policy proposals to influence public debate and earn media attention.Recruit new people to your team: Help build the team by recruiting volunteers, interns, and full-time staff.Run a grassroots campaign office each summer: Lead a summer campaign office, engage in fundraising, broaden organization and membership, and build grassroots support. Responsibilities include meeting fundraising goals and managing a team of staff. Some locations or assignments may change.QualificationsEntry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
