Summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AVIATION PROJECT MANAGER to join our team in STAFFORD, VA.

The Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), Science & Technology (S&T) Division, Aviation Combat Element (ACE) Branch requires highly qualified professional support to manage advanced technology development projects. These roles report directly to the Senior United States Marine Corps (USMC) Portfolio Manager within MCWL and the Office of Naval Research

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate across Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), Fleet Marine Forces (FMF), DoW Program Offices, and industry to introduce, support, and evaluate candidate technologies for USMC aviation
  • Collaborate with vendors, other government agencies, and operational commands (including Combatant Commands) to align projects with USMC aviation priorities.
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative analytical products to enable executive-level resource allocation and weapon system roadmap decisions.
  • Provide overarching resource planning across Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution processes
  • Manage integration of new technologies and capabilities into USMC aviation platforms, weapons, and systems.
  • Research, staff, and prepare executive-level memos, memorandums of agreement/understanding, letters, briefs, plans of action and milestones, and technical reports.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university and at least 4 years project management experience. At least 8 years experience without a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating new technologies into military platforms, weapons, or systems
  • Service as a fixed-wing, rotary-wing, tilt rotor, or UAV aviator or air control operator with the US military
  • Experience with classified program environments for government and industry
  • Proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) is critical, as is the ability to professionally prepare and present analytical documents for senior military and defense officials
  • Outstanding initiative, organizational skills, team-oriented mindset and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environment

Preferred qualifications:
  • Extensive understanding of the roles, missions, and functions of the USMC, acquired through active duty service, government civilian roles, or support contracting within the FMF or HQMC
  • Aviation Staff Officer experience at the Marine Expeditionary Unit, Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Expeditionary Force, or HQMC levels.
  • Direct experience working with DoW Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Program Managers, the DoW Research Enterprise, or Rapid Capabilities Offices.
  • Graduate of USMC Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course or Command & Staff College or equivalent level school

Clearance Requirements:

Must have an active and current TS/SCI security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse duties, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
