Position Title - Part Time Dispatcher (Staff)
Overview - St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The university's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. Job Responsibilities - Answer all incoming telephone calls to campus and direct them to the appropriate department. Monitor intrusion detection and fire surveillance system as well as notify the Monroe County 911 Center for emergency response as needed. Maintain contact with university departments for after hour emergency maintenance requests. Maintain radio communications with on-duty security officers and operate a multi-line telephone system. Complete data entry daily for online reporting systems. Perform credit/debit card transactions. Monitor on campus shuttle and prepare statistical ride data for the Director. Assist with department lost and found. Use theRAVEAlert System to send out campus wide notifications. Other clerical tasks/duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
Education / Experience - Required: High School Diploma
Competencies / Skills - Must have excellent communication skills, experience with Microsoft Windows based programs, Microsoft Office. Ability to multi-task and remain focused during emergencies.
Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting while answering phones or working at a computer. Visual demands: Reading computer screens, documents, identification, and schedules throughout the workday. Hearing and speaking: Regular communication with visitors, employees, and callers, often in a busy environment. Repetitive movements: Repeated typing, clicking, writing, and telephone use. Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 1020 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files). Ability to navigate office environment, including walking short distances and bending or reaching as needed.
Supervision of Employees - Assist the Student Shuttle Driver Supervisor with organizing employment paperwork
Work Environment - Indoor office
Equipment to be Used - Computer Telephone ID printer
Job Type - Part-time
Work Hours - Saturday and Sunday, A-Shift (7:00 AM 3:00 PM). 12 months per year, including holidays

Salary / Hourly Range - $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
Notes - The salary range for this role is set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, qualifications, experience, and education. The above hiring range is one component of the University's competitive Total Rewards package which can be viewed here
