The Operations team is responsible for Emergency and Non-Emergency calls throughout East and South Bay Counties of Northern California. A Westmed Dispatcher will ensure that ambulance transports run smoothly by coordinating with customers, providing precise logistics for EMT's to follow along on their routes, and coordinating transport times. Ambulance Dispatch experience preferred but not required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (listed but not limited to): Answering multi-line phone systemDispatching ambulances to callsStrong ability to multitask between phone calls, communications from ambulance crews, and county radiosProvide positive customer service both internally and externallyManage unit utilization throughout the dayMaintain the daily schedule of calls and adjusting as necessary throughout the dayHave a good understanding of Bay Area freeways, hospitals, and traffic patternsProviding directions to crews as neededProvide timely reports to the management teamCommunicating daily reports to managersCall transcribing into a Zoll CAD systemRequirements and Qualifications Must have good auditory abilitiesMust be able to type 45 wpm or greaterMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to handle high stress situations and call volumesEmergency Medical Technician/Emergency Medical Dispatch certificate highly desired (not required)Ability to work nights, weekends and holidaysBenefits: 401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule: 12 hour shiftsOvertime built into scheduleNight and Weekend availability
