Summary

Overview

Monitor hot work areas for fire hazards, sparks, smoke, or other unsafe conditions.

Maintain continuous observation during welding, cutting, grinding, and other hot work activities.

Keep fire extinguishers and other required fire protection equipment readily available.

Communicate safety concerns immediately to the appropriate personnel.

Conduct required fire-watch duties before, during, and after hot work activities.

Maintain a clean and safe work area and help prevent combustible materials from being exposed to ignition sources.

Follow all company, site, and OSHA safety procedures.Complete required safety documentation and reports when applicable.

Skills and Experience

Previous industrial, construction, or fire-watch experience preferred.

Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.

Ability to work outdoors and in industrial environments.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Must be able to pass any required site-specific safety training or orientation.
