- Detect, deter, and apprehend individuals and groups attempting illegal entry
- Identify and interdict smuggling of narcotics, weapons, and other contraband
- Conduct interviews, inspections, and field processing of subjects encountered
- Operate and monitor surveillance systems, sensors, and communications equipment
- Assist in search and rescue operations for distressed individuals in remote terrain
- Prepare accurate reports, documentation, and evidence for legal proceedings
- Collaborate with other federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners
- Maintain weapons proficiency, physical fitness, and tactical readiness
- Uphold CBP standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions
