Job DescriptionJob Description We have an immediate opening for an Electronic Warfare Technician, preferably former Navy EW, with experience in performing component and system level maintenance for shipboard systems. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) on Wallops Island, VA, which provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors in support of platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. You'd be providing an important service in furtherance of our United States Navy's warfighting readiness and evolving capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: This Electronic Warfare Technician will perform equipment and system level maintenance on AN/SLQ-32 variants and the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) systems, preferably SEWIP (V) 6 or 7, with opportunities to learn about and get qualified on the wide range of current and future integrated ship defense systems. REQUIREMENTS:- High School diploma or GED
- Three (3) years demonstrated experience performing fault isolation and casualty restoration, and preventive maintenance on EW systems and equipment, preferably SEWIP (V) 6 or 7.
- DoD Secret level security clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are established by the U.S. government, to include being a U.S. citizen. If the selected candidate does not hold a Secret clearance, the contingent offer may delay the start date until an interim Secret clearance is granted.
- Certified Fiber Optic Installer
- Security+ Certification
- Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX
- Preference will be given to candidates who reside in, or will move into, a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) area, of which Wallops Island VA is one. See the SBA website for the map of HUBZone locations. .
- This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is therefore determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
