Job Summary: In this role Physical Security Officers (PSO's) can expect to be working in demanding and fast paced environments. In this role PSO-2's will screen visitors, patrol the site, ensure access control and provide overall site security.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

  • Provide a professional armed security presence while transporting voting ballots and election materials between designated Chester County locations.
  • Maintain continuous control and accountability of all ballots and election materials from the time they are received until they are formally transferred to the authorized receiving party.
  • Verify each pickup and delivery location before accepting or releasing election materials and follow all established chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Ballots and election materials are never to be left unattended, unsecured, or released to anyone who has not been identified as an authorized recipient.
  • Complete all required pickup, transport, and delivery documentation, including times, locations, authorized contacts, and confirmation of successful handoff.
Skills / Qualifications
  • ACT 235 (current)
  • 21 years of age
  • MUST HAVE a Current and Valid Drivers License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year experience in armed security recommended
  • Must be able to pass PAT and ASO course
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Excellent de-escalation skills
  • Proficient firearms skills
  • Extensive use of force knowledge
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, urinalysis screening and OPS training requirements
Appearance
  • Officers shall maintain their hair in a neat, clean, and combed professional appearance.
  • Officer's fingernails shall not extend more that ¼ inch from the tip of the finger or interfere in any ways in the performance of duty or with the safe drawing of issued equipment. Fingernail polish is allowed if it does not distract from the uniform.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to work under stress / pressure
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to wear a uniform
  • Ability to use force, up to and including deadly force, when reasonably justified
