What You'll Do As an Armed Security Officer:
- Patrol museum buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
- Conduct routine security inspections of doors, windows, gates, and restricted areas.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical personnel when appropriate.
- Investigate suspicious activity and complete detailed incident reports.
- Assist with crowd management during museum events and public programs.
- Escort unauthorized individuals from the property when necessary.
- Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives, when appropriate.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications
- South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (required at time of interview)
- Successful SLED background investigation
- Previous verified security experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days
Full time position (40 hours), Noon to 8 p.m. Days will vary. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
