We pride ourselves on being an on-time airline and are seeking dedicated individuals that understand a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards of operational safety and customer service.QualificationsWhat You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):At least 18 years oldHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalentComfortable with computers, mobile devices, and new technologiesAble to stand, walk, and handle baggage for an eight-hour shiftAble to read, write and speak English fluentlyAbility to communicate with other departments and flight crewsMust possess a valid state-issued driver's license, with a good driving recordMust be eligible to acquire and maintain credentials vital for the positionMust pass a background checkMust pass a pre-placement physical ability test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screenPosition-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Service clearancesAvailable during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidaysWhen necessary, based on the needs of the operation, you will be required to work mandatory overtimeAble to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces, including lifting up to 70lbsAbility to obtain required training certifications, perform safety checks, and successfully complete all required job functions, including but not limited to operating and driving equipment, loading and unloading baggage and cargo, interpreting load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labelsWork outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditionsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipWork where there will be exposure to high noise levelsMust NOT have lived outside of the United States in the past 3 years for any period longer than six months, except for military duty or government-approved exceptionsSuccessful completion of interview and assessment required to meet job qualificationsReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the positionAbility to meet our uniform, and appearance standardsMust be willing and able to work 100% on-siteThe starting rate for this role is $19.64.This is also a bonus eligible position (i.e. profit sharing).We offer competitive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, accident & disability, employee assistance program, commuter, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k), pension and flight privileges (subject to the respective collective bargaining agreement).United Airlines is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
