FRAUD DETECTION SPECIALIST IWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?A Fraud Detection Specialist level I, will review alerts/transactions that are flagged as potentially fraudulent, or out of pattern, based on the client's normal activity. Alerts and/or transactions may consist of various payment types and colleagues in this department are tasked with reviewing and verifying these alerted transactions via outbound and/or inbound call, in addition to initiating dispute claims. This position will play a key role in the prevention of losses to City National Bank and its clients. The Fraud Detection Specialist I, is a position requiring banking operations and/or contact center knowledge, and a general knowledge of fraud identification and prevention.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Demonstrate resiliency and adaptability in a fast-paced contact center environmentThe Fraud Specialist is responsible for reviewing fraud alerts and internal notifications to identify fraudulent or suspicious activityApproach problems logically and with good judgment to ensure the appropriate customer outcomeDemonstrate personal excellence including punctuality, integrity, and accountabilityComfortable in a metrics driven environment that requires the ability to prioritize and multitaskThink critically and exercise independent judgementFollowing established policies and procedures, initiates appropriate actions steps to mitigate risk and protect the Bank from financial lossOpens cases/claims on all suspicious activity and appropriately investigate, and elevate when neededWorks to detect various fraud schemes (email compromise, elder abuse, counterfeit checks, ATO, etc.) and characteristics of red flags, performs additional duties as assigned.Performs defined mitigation steps to reduce financial loss to our customers and the bankAbility to complete assigned duties within daily deadlines, both efficiently, timely, and with minimal supervision to meet KPIs and SLAsWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalentMinimum 2 year of general office, back office banking or accounting experience requiredAdvanced computer experience required (e.g. MS Word, Outlook and Excel)Minimum 3 years in banking operations.Minimum 2 years of experience in fraud investigations, disputes, and /or fraud exposure.Additional QualificationsMust work well in a team environment, as well as independentlyMust have a strong and positive work ethic and follow CNB core valuesMust be flexible and adapt quickly to changeAbility to multi-tasks and meet specific performance goalsAdvanced Knowledge of PC functions in a Windows based environmentEffective written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of bank personnel and clients.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?CompensationStarting base salary: $22.27 - $33.43 per hour.
