Air Traffic Control Terminal Instrument Procedures Program Manager
Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and manage the unit Air Traffic Control (ATC) Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS) Program and to provide visual flight rules (VFR) air traffic control services to aircraft operating in the vicinity of an airport or on the controlled movement area of the airfield, providing for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic.
Duties
Plans, organizes and directs activities of the TERPS program.
Determines effectiveness and adequacy of procedures, determines ramifications, and makes recommendations to management on such issues as TERPS criteria and proposed rule changes presented by higher headquarters, DOD, the FAA, and the ICAO.
Directs movement of aircraft in flight and on the ground as pilot reported or observed visually from the control tower.
Operates communication and display equipment and provides emergency assistance to aircraft.
Maintains certification requirements.
