Summary
Salary: $73,500 - $84,000Essential Functions Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.Conduct criminal and traffic investigations.Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.Collect, process, and preserve evidence.Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.Make lawful arrests and testify in court proceedings.Investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities.Respond to disturbances, traffic crashes, and public safety incidents.Assist with criminal investigations and present evidence during judicial proceedings.Maintain a visible presence at community events to deter criminal activity.Build positive relationships with residents, businesses, and visitors through community-oriented policing.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.Requirements Possess a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).Hold a current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification.Possess a valid driver's license.Reside, or be willing to relocate, within a 60-mile radius of Haymarket.Ability to work 12-hour shifts (6:00 pm-6:00 am).Demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and apply the Code of Virginia and departmental policies.Successfully complete all required background investigations, medical evaluations, and employment standards#J-18808-Ljbffr
