Job Description Summary
Skills technicians assists with skills instruction within Public Safety Professions programs (Fire, LEA, EMSP) or provides administrative and technical support for the department's instructional and clinical operations. And/Or: Administrative technicians provide administrative and technical support for the department's instructional and clinical operations. Certifications and transcripts must be attached to application when applicable.
Required Education
To assist with skills – EMT Certification or comparable training And/Or: For administrative support – High School Diploma
Required Experience
Skills technician position: 1 year experience with a paid or volunteer Fire/EMS/Police department. And/Or: Administrative technician position: Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), communication (written and oral), customer service, office skills.
Preferred Education
Associate degree in related field, Instructor certification in related field.
Preferred Experience
1 year of experience working in an office environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Skills Technician: Assist with skills training, assess skills competency of students, act as participants during scenario training. Skills technicians that have experience in a field (EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement) can assist students in the classroom with skills but only under the direction of an adjunct (paramedic with at least 3 years of experience) or the Coordinator. Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success. And/Or: Administrative technicians provide administrative and technical support for the department's instructional and clinical operations. This position assists faculty and staff with student onboarding, documentation, and clinical scheduling, as well as maintains records and supports day-to-day administrative functions related to student training and program compliance. This technician will (essential duties and responsibilities): Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining student records. Coordinate and track student paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program and accreditation requirements. Support student onboarding by preparing orientation materials, verifying documentation, and assisting with background checks, immunization records, and certifications. Assist with clinical site coordination, including scheduling student rotations and maintaining communication with clinical partners. Help manage and organize lab and classroom materials, equipment, and supplies as needed. Provide general office support such as answering phones, responding to student inquiries, and assisting faculty with administrative needs. Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional records. Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.
