Summary

Felony Prosecutor

This position is responsible for prosecuting felony cases in General Sessions Court.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Case preparation, including taking depositions, interviewing clients, negotiating with other attorneys, and coordinating with investigators and paralegals.
  • Case trial, including handling a full caseload of warrants for prosecution and trying cases in General Session Court.
  • Managerial duties, including assigning cases to assistant solicitors and answering legal questions.

Physical requirements of the job include lifting, driving, and ability to travel.

Typical qualifications include:

  • JD and passing SC bar exam
  • Minimum 10 years practicing with trial experience
  • 14 hours CLE per year
