JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Jefferson County Diversity Equity Inclusion (EDI) Division is seeking an organized, dependable, and collaborative Diversity Equity Inclusion Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and project support to the Equity Diversity Inclusion Director (EDI) and Equity Diversity Inclusion (EDI) Division as a whole.

This is a part-time position designed for someone interested in building inclusion and equity in public service and supporting programs and initiatives that promote inclusion, equity, accessibility, and belonging. Previous professional experience in EDI work is not required .

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable learning new tools and processes, and able to manage multiple assignments with support and direction from the EDI Director. The successful candidate will also have a passion for Diversity Equity Inclusion through lived or professional experience.

SCHEDULE:

This position will work for up to 20 hours per week in a hybrid work environment.

  • Jefferson County operates on a four-day business week, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7am-5pm .


COMPENSATION:

Hiring Range: $18-$22 USD Hourly

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

  • Provide administrative and project support for Diversity Equity Inclusion (EDI) programs, initiatives, trainings, and events.


  • Provide administrative support to the EDI Director and Division.


  • Track assignments, deadlines, and project progress and maintain accurate project documentation.


  • Use Monday.com, Microsoft 365, and other technology tools to support team organization, project coordination, and information management.


  • Assist with creating presentations, training materials, informational resources, promotional materials, and infographics.


  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, trainings, and other team activities.


  • Attend meetings, take notes, document action items, and assist with follow-up activities in support of the Director and Division.


  • Draft, format, and distribute routine communications, meeting agendas, and other materials.


  • Maintain calendars and provide scheduling support for trainings, meetings, and team activities.


  • Assist the team in creating and maintaining digitally accessible documents, communications, and resources in accordance with established accessibility standards.


  • Organize files, records, resources, and program information using established processes.


  • Collaborate with team members and other County departments to support shared priorities and division objectives .


  • Provide additional administrative and project support as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize work, and meet established deadlines.


  • Ability to follow established procedures and ask questions when additional information or clarification is needed.


  • Ability to work independently with appropriate direction and contribute effectively as part of a team.


  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or the ability to learn these applications.


  • Ability to organize and maintain information, files, and records.


  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and appropriately handle confidential or sensitive information.


  • Interest in supporting Jefferson County's commitment to Diversity Equity Inclusion (EDI) and effective public service


Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities :

  • The following qualifications are helpful but not required :


  • Experience or demonstrated interest in inclusion, equity, accessibility, community engagement, or related topics through employment, education, volunteer service, community involvement, lived experience, or other experiences.


  • Experience providing administrative, assistant, clerical, program, project, or customer service support.


  • Familiarity with technology platforms such as Microsoft 365, Monday.com, Canva, Venngage , Workday, or Adobe applications.


  • Experience creating presentations, informational materials, flyers, graphics, or other communications.


  • Spanish language proficiency .


  • Experience working with or serving people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.


  • Interest in learning new software, systems, accessibility practices, and administrative processes.


Additional Job Information:

A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer.
