Indian preference will NOT be applied to those candidates interested in applying to locations not listed above. As a Supervisory Wildland Firefighter (Engine Captain) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Exercises supervisory authority to regularly assigned firefighters within a fire engine crew.
- Performs administrative program management functions such as planning, budget execution, and stewardship of facilities, equipment, vehicles, and accountable property.
- Applies an experienced understanding of firefighter safety, fire behavior, topography of the area weather, fuels, and training in fire management.
- Plans action and directs utilization of fireline resources; directs assigned suppression operations and recommends and implements tactical strategies for suppressing fires.
- Oversees the development and implementation of training programs to comply with policy, regulations, and development.
