This role involves ensuring the safety and security of visitors, guests, and staff while maintaining a welcoming environment throughout the Gardens. Responsibilities include:Patrolling the grounds by various means including walking, bicycling, utilizing golf carts, etc.Responding to and assisting with all emergenciesInvestigating and documenting incidents thoroughly and properlyInteracting with guests in a positive and friendly manner by providing information and direction while following safety and security policiesAssisting with the opening and/or closing of daily operations and traffic controlThis part-time role requires availability throughout the year, averaging 28 hours per week. The schedule varies and may require working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.The ideal candidate will possess:A valid driver's license is requiredFirst aid, CPR, AED experience(s) preferred but not requiredLaw enforcement, military, or related security experience preferredWork indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions with long periods of walking and standingStrong writing skills to properly complete and document incident reports / investigationsAbility to operate Longwood-owned vehiclesExceptional customer service, communication, conflict resolution, and hospitality skillsAbility to lift 50 poundsLongwood Gardens is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates the complexities and differences of all living things.
