Summary
Campus Safety Officer
Patrol the hospital, parking areas, and hospital grounds. Investigate unsecured doors, gates, vehicles and buildings. Accompany visitors and staff to parking areas when requested. Open doors, gates, vehicles and building for authorized personnel. Monitor/operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTVs), two-way radios, telephones, fire enunciator system, and equipment alarms. Operate/maintain motor vehicle. Maintain assigned equipment. Enforce parking and traffic policies. Assist motorists with vehicle problems (dead battery, flat tire etc….) Investigate traffic accidents. Perform package inspections. Respond to and investigate alarms. Assist staff with patients when needed. Assist staff if confrontational situations arise. Respond to Emergency Codes. Assist law enforcement as needed. Complete incident reports. Write concise and factual shift reports.
Experience/Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or GED. Must have a clean driving record. One-year experience in security preferred. Experience in a hospital setting a plus. Must possess good problem solving skills. Must communicate effectively and demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication. Must successfully complete an initial physical fitness test and maintain physical fitness standards.
