Police Academy Trainee
The Chino Police Department is seeking highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to join our team. We are looking for candidates who are committed to serving the community with professionalism, integrity, and respect. As a Police Academy Trainee, you'll begin your career with a department dedicated to excellence, teamwork, and providing exceptional public safety services to those who live, work, and play in the City of Chino.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a California POST-certified Police Basic Training Academy or have graduated from one within one year of the application date. To be considered, applicants must attach proof of current academy enrollment or a copy of your valid California POST-certified Police Basic Academy certificate, as applicable. Failure to provide the required documentation may result in disqualification from the selection process.
Depending on your academy status, applicants may be required to participate in a Physical Agility Test (PAT). Qualified applicants who meet the minimum qualifications may be invited to continue in the selection process, including an oral interview, comprehensive police background investigation, and an administrative review.
Police Academy Trainees who successfully complete a California POST-certified Police Basic Training Academy and satisfy all departmental requirements will be promoted to the classification of Police Officer and become members of the Chino Police Officers Association (CPOA). Upon promotion, they will serve a probationary period and be granted full peace officer authority.
