Summary
JOB SUMMARY:The Equipment Worker repairs and maintains Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and associated components in support of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience in equipment repair and maintenance of similar DOD equipment.
- U.S. Citizenship;
- Possesses a valid U.S. issued driver's license.
- Must be eligible for, or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years.
- Good working knowledge of the USAF supply systems, programs, policies and manuals, in addition to proper methods of inventory control and the associated terminology and other accepted or required standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform repair and maintenance associated with GFE equipment as instructed.
- Prepares GSE for transportation and storage.
- Operates, cleans, inspects and services GSE towing vehicles.
- Maintains vehicle records.
- Maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records.
- Provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
- Performs visual, auditory, and dimensional checks on system components.
- Inspect equipment for wear and tear to determine if part should be repaired or replaced.
- Ensures equipment is accounted for in the accordance with the SOPs and/or contract requirements and that the work is synchronized in accordance with the proper method(s), and/or requirements.
- Utilize safety practices and procedures in accordance with established regulations.
- Follow federal and state rules when storing, using, handling, labeling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Often - Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Talking, Hearing
- Lifting/Moving Requirements - Minimum of up to 50 pounds
- Generally works in an environmentally controlled work area. Potential exposure to harsh or hazardous compounds and chemicals.
