Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Program Specialist, Assessment Operations Category: Support StaffJob Function: Support StaffDepartment: Learning & Teaching-AssessmentSummary The Assessment Program Specialist is responsible for planning and providing support, resources, and professional learning to schools in support of the District-wide implementation of effective assessment practices, including the administration of all state and national assessments.Supports the administration of all state and national assessment plans in the District's assessment strategy and annual testing calendar:Completes all mandatory Georgia Department of Education and vendor assessment trainingsExecutes project plans for the successful administration of state and national assessmentExecutes processes for managing school testing irregularities and parent testing refusalsMonitors school compliance to all state and national assessment processes and deadlinesSupports District and school-based staff in the implementation of effective assessment administration practices:Creates and facilitates an annual professional development schedule for the administration of all state and national assessmentsProvides targeted professional development to school leaders for the successful administration of all state and national assessmentsCreates and maintains print resources to support assessment administration, including, manuals, test coordinator job aides, and parent resourcesProvides user support for state and national assessment technologiesResponds to technical questionsTroubleshoots platform issuesCompletes Georgia Department of Education student data coding tasks (e.g. participation validation, student matching, non-participation, and enrollment counts)Maintains assessment administration training and print resources on the internal and external assessment websitesPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administratorRequired Education Bachelor's Degree in Education or related fieldMaster's Degree preferredCertification/Licensure Experience Qualifications Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience required; Prior experience with assessment administration and professional staff development preferred; Experience working within a large, complex organization preferredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners across multiple assessment topics and grade levelsDemonstrated ability to effectively navigate, set-up, and maintain assessment technology services or systemsDemonstrated ability to plan and execute district-wide processes or projectsDemonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously to meet short-term objectives and long-term goalsDemonstrated ability to implement cycles of continuous improvement and develop innovative solutions that address challengesDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including district/school administrators, teachers, and/or community membersExcellent communication skills both written and verbalWorking Conditions Normal office environmentWill require travel between schoolsPhysical Demands Routine activities associated with normal office environmentMust be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionallyIt is the policy of the Fulton County School System not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or disability in any employment practice, educational program, or any other program, activity, or service.
