Company Overview Connetquot Public Library is seeking an Adult Services Librarian to join our Adult Services Department. This position offers the opportunity to be part of an evolving library environment where you'll help our community explore all that the library has to offerResponsibilities and Duties Shifts required: Two (2) evening shifts 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. either Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. Two (2) Saturdays per month, and one (1) Sunday per month.Assist patrons in finding and requesting books, films, museum passes, and more.Help with internet use, email, social media, Microsoft Office, and Google apps.Troubleshoot smartphones, tablets, and e-readers.Guide members through class registrations and library services.If you're an avid reader who loves helping others and enjoys learning new things, we'd love to have you! The ideal candidate is motivated, curious, and always ready to find answers to unexpected questions. Come be part of a team that makes a difference every day!Qualifications and Skills Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program, or current enrollment in an ALA accredited MLS program requiredNew York State Public Librarian Certificate required or in progressStrong communication and interpersonal skills with a welcoming, service focused approachComfortable using everyday technology including email, social media, and mobile devicesAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environmentGenuine interest in working with children and families in a public library settingBenefits New York State Retirement SystemPaid vacation timeThis is a non competitive Suffolk County Civil Service position (LIBRARIAN I or LIBRARIAN TRAINEE).#J-18808-Ljbffr
