Summary

The Nineteenth Judicial District Court (19th JDC) is one of Louisiana's 43 judicial districts and hasoriginal jurisdiction over all civil and criminal matters in East Baton Rouge Parish. There are fifteenelected judges (Division A through Division O) in the 19th JDC and four appointed commissioners.About the role Under the general supervision of the Duty Commissioner, performs professional work and essentialduties, including full pretrial screens, reviewing and verifying criminal history, and preparingrecommendation reports for the court on arrested individuals. Pretrial Services Officers monitorconditions of release for individuals court-ordered to supervision. Performance is reviewed throughconferences and results obtained. Performs other work as requested.Responsibilities Collect and enter defendant information into case management system.Responsible for the ACCESS terminal training certification process and maintenance ofFBI/NCIC documentation and audit policy.Meet with defendants to review conditions of release.Monitor compliance with conditions of release and provide referrals to optional, supportiveservices based on defendant needs.Update defendant bond conditions and reporting intensity in case management system incoordination with supervision staff entering pertinent case notes regarding pretrial courtactivity.Write and file compliance and violation reportsMay be required to testify in court.Perform all tasks accurately and thoroughly within demanding time frames.Function effectively in a team environment and be a reliable team player by also serving asbackup to other pretrial Officers as needed.Perform other related duties and work overtime as required.Candidate requirements Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in social sciences, criminal justice, or publicadministration.Must be able to pass background clearance and a pre-employment drug screen for access tothe court and to run criminal record history (Louisiana State Police)Note: Additional years of experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year#J-18808-Ljbffr
