Nature Of Work
Under general supervision performs specialized office work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned.
Typical Duties
(Illustrative Only) • Coordinates specialized departmental function • Assists with the supervision, training, and evaluation of support personnel • Provides training to assigned staff • Receives, reviews, processes and distributes confidential and sensitive documents • Processes documents related to misdemeanor, felony, and civil cases • Prepares and maintains records and reports • Researches records and disburses information • Composes, formats and types correspondence, reports and other documents • Assists other agencies with information and explaining procedures • May prepare and maintain accounting and other records • May handle and account for cash in various amounts Essential functions of this position include but not limited to: sitting, walking, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending and crawling for filing; working with and around others; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand/wrist/elbow/elbow/ shoulder) for computer work, filing, copying etc.; vision acuity (near) for computer work and reading documents; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity and touch for typing.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR Associate's degree in a related field and two years of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. This position is not exempt from overtime. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must pass fingerprint clearance.

Considerable knowledge of: Justice Court terms and meanings Legal terminology, statutes and court procedures Office practices and procedures Rules and procedures of department, including state and federal law Word processing, spread sheets and other computer applications Business English, spelling and arithmetic Skill in: The operation and maintenance of a variety of office equipment Customer service Researching and problem solving Organizing and coordinating the efforts of court personnel Ability to: Analyze legal documents and interpret statutory requirements Perform complex administrative functions with speed and accuracy Maintain confidentiality and work under pressure in a dynamic environment with changing program demands and priorities Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety Follow written and verbal instructions Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Type and perform data entry accurately Prepare and maintain complex records and reports Coconino County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
