Summary

To ensure accurate coding for reimbursement and data collection, the full-time Remote Inpatient Coding Coordinator IV will manage the coding process, coordinate daily responsibilities of coding staff, and provide education on clinical documentation improvement.Key responsibilities:Conduct timely prebill reviews and audits of inpatient medical records to capture final DRG accuratelyAnalyze clinical data to identify gaps in physician documentation and report trends for improvementTrain and audit entry-level coders while communicating with healthcare providers to validate diagnoses and clinical indicatorsRequired qualifications:RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or equivalentCollege credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiologyThree years of coding experience in a Health Information Management Department or equivalentExperience with implementing and maintaining computer systems
