Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the remote State Licensed Coding Specialist will review clinical documentation, assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes, and ensure compliance with billing and reimbursement requirements.Key responsibilitiesSelect and sequence ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS codes for various patient typesReview facility records to ensure accurate APC assignments and coding reflects documented diagnoses/proceduresMaintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and participate in continuing education activitiesRequired qualificationsActive AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, COC, CCS-P, or CPC)Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experienceKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding setsAbility to consistently code at a 95% quality thresholdProficient in MS Office applications, including Excel
