Overview

The Foreman of the Gas Department - CNG Division is responsible for mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems in and throughout all CNG stations. This position serves as trainer and mentor for new and experienced Technicians and oversees their work to ensure that proper procedures and repairs are executed in a safe, efficient and correct manner.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the CNG Work Coordinator

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems in and throughout all CNG stations, inclusive of but not limited to: Compressors, generators, pumps, valves, and high-pressure lines

• Diagnose and address mechanical issues by referring to operations and maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and drawings

• Provide training and guidance to subordinates on equipment repair processes

• Conduct or coordinate inspections of all CNG equipment located on various stations throughout the city, building and grounds, furnish reports and communicate discrepancies to supervisors

• Maintain daily maintenance and work logs

• Utilize any programs that may track and report progress

• Supervise and assist with buildings and grounds maintenance by generating work schedules, evaluating work performance and ordering supplies

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Non Exempt - Full-Time - 40 hours a week

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED

• Six (6) years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

• Category 2 - CNC Service and Installation Certification from the Railroad Commission of Texas, if not certified employee Is required to obtain certification within 45 working days as per RRC regulations.

Required within six (6) months of hire

• Class "A" Commercial Texas Driver's License With x endorsement

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
