Pflugerville Independent School District - Job DescriptionJob Title/Position: Crossing Guard (part time) Department/School: Various Campuses Pay Information: Auxiliary Compensation Plan Supervised By: Campus Principal FLSA: Non-Exempt Date Revised: January 2020Provide students safety as they cross roadways to come and go from school.Completion of sufficient education or training to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.Direct and control student traffic, pedestrians or bicycles at designated school-crossing areas.Report incidences of unsafe or reckless driving to building administrator.Use and maintain designated crossing guard equipment provided by the district; wear appropriate attire for weather conditions such as raincoat, gloves, etc.Communicate professionally to students, parents, staff, and community.Report to assigned area in timely manner and remain at post until students have utilized support.Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge of traffic regulations.Knowledge of district rules and practices.Skill in effectively communicating with students.Repetitive hand motions; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs; exposure daily to possible adverse weather elements for extended periods of time.The foregoing statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title.They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
