Yulista is interviewing multiple dedicated Part-Time Night Watchmen to help ensure the security of personnel and vessel while in port, and critical government assets right here in Panama City Beach, Florida.If you have a background in military, maritime work, security, or mechanical systems—or you're simply driven, disciplined, and eager to learn—we want to meet you!Essential Functions:Monitors Quarter Deck for authorized entry of personnel and visitors. Checks required forms of identification and verify against vessel access listMakes sound and security rounds throughout vessel following a predetermined schedule and prescribed routeRemains vigilant for any unusual conditions. Reports inconsistencies immediately to commanding officerMonitors and records vessel machinery conditions. Ensures they are functioning and maintained in accordance with original equipment manufacturers recommendationsProtects government equipment and assetsAnswers and responds appropriately to any alarm conditions such as fire or floodingTakes vessel draft readings. Reads visual markings on vessel hull and compare those readings against previous recordsAssists other crew members to protect vessel against flooding take appropriate proactive measure once per watchAssists vessel with getting underway and returning from sea. Physically removes the gangway from the vessel and cast-off catch lines as directedNight Watchman will be required to perform Line Handler duties when the vessel gets underway or returns to port outside normal working hoursMonitors weather conditions, checks mooring lines and adds as necessaryPlaces ship on or offshore or generator power in accordance with engineering operating and sequencing proceduresThe Night Watchman may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization and vesselSupervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Beginner computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferredAbility to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to generate routine reports and correspondenceInterpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew membersAbility to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.Ability to follow a process.Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
