Campus Police Officer

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of College Police, shall be responsible for the service, safety, and security of all College properties, faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors during the assigned tour of duty.Prevention and suppression of crimeProtection of life and propertyDevelopment, implementation, and supervision of assigned areas of public safety specialtiesPreservation of the peaceEnforcement of state, local, and federal laws and College regulationsApprehension, investigation and prosecution of offendersPerform other related duties as assigned.High School graduate or equivalent and current M.C.O.L.E.S. certification or the ability to be certified prior to hire. Two years of law enforcement experience as a certified sworn police officer preferred.The Police Officer upon being hired will be certified as a duly sworn Police Officer by the Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) under Senate bills 614 and 758 as adopted by the Michigan State Legislature in 1998 granting him/her full law enforcement powers on properties of Macomb Community College.#J-18808-Ljbffr
