Job DescriptionThis job is a safety-sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace. agencies.Performs daily security checks of assigned area to include courtrooms, holding cells and adjacent areas before all court proceedings.Assists in bringing detainees under physical control in routine as well as emergency situations in or on the grounds of the Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center.Maintains security screening checkpoints which include the operation of x-ray machines and metal detectors.Performs routine security checks throughout the building.Handles arraignments and other court calendars as necessary.Properly documents court dispositions or orders of the court.Completes reports and other written assignments as directed by the supervisor.Performs law enforcement duties as required.Positions assigned to the Field Operations Division may be responsible for:Conduct thorough and in-depth investigations into specific criminal activities, such as drug trafficking, child exploitation, and other designated areas.Gather intelligence, collect evidence, and analyze data to build cases against individuals involved in the targeted criminal activities.Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to exchange information, coordinate joint operations, and enhance investigative efforts.Utilize advanced investigative techniques, including surveillance, undercover operations, and informant management, to gather information and evidence.Monitor and analyze trends, patterns, and emerging threats related to the targeted criminal activities, providing strategic recommendations and action plans.Prepare and execute search warrants, arrest warrants, and other legal documents as required for the investigation and apprehension of suspects.Interview witnesses, victims, and suspects to gather information and elicit testimonies, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and adherence to legal protocols.Maintain accurate and detailed case files, records, and documentation in accordance with departmental policies and legal requirements.Stay updated on the latest investigative techniques, technological advancements, and legal developments related to targeted criminal activities.Provide support and This section consists of Communications Unit and is responsible for press releases, answering queries from the media, assisting in routine news coverage, newsletters within the Sheriff's Office, maintains social media outlets, and handles requests from all media sources.Training Section determines the training needs and training programs of the Sheriff's Office.
