Summary
Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented Legislative Correspondent to join his office in Washington, D.C. Candidates must have exceptional writing, editing, and multitasking skills, be detail-oriented and proactive, be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and be committed to public service. Candidates are expected to oversee the constituent correspondence program, including drafting thoughtful constituent correspondence and managing the newsletter. The individual will also manage a legislative portfolio, including tracking legislation, monitoring relevant committee and floor activity, tracking news events, making recommendations in the assigned legislative areas, and building support for the Member's legislative agenda by developing and implementing new initiatives. The individual will draft legislation, letters, remarks, and other written material related to the policy portfolio. The individual is expected to represent the Member in meetings with constituents, local and national stakeholder organizations, and administration officials. The Legislative Correspondent will work closely with the Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Communications Director, and may have other duties as assigned.Previous Capitol Hill experience is strongly preferred. This is not an entry-level position. Rhode Island ties are a plus.Candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
