To ensure the accuracy of medical record coding and DRG assignment, the full-time Florida Licensed Lead Coding Specialist will conduct audits, provide training, and serve as a coding resource while working remotely.Key responsibilitiesConduct regular monitoring and audits of medical record coding and DRG assignmentsTrain new employees in coding procedures and provide supervisory feedback on performanceConsult with physicians and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists on coding queriesRequired qualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or ScienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient acute care codingCCS (Certified Coding Specialist), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification requiredExperience in a supervisory or management role preferredFlorida state licensure is not required
