Join the Library Team at the USS Midway Museum!

Summary

We are looking for a volunteer for the Library Team!

The Former Crewmember lookup position requires excellent customer service skills and research capabilities. Volunteers work directly with former Midway sailors and their families, so they must be able to deliver high-quality customer interactions.

Individuals should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and basic comfort with a database.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Experience working with genealogy sites is a definite advantage.

Individuals will be trained by Midway library staff/volunteers in the crewmember lookup process. Crew lookups are not continuous, so the individual in this role should also be prepared to select an additional, ongoing library special project to work on between lookups.

Seeking volunteers with availability on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. 5-hour shifts preferred, anytime within the 10 AM-5PM window.

A 12 hours a month minimum commitment is requested.
