Job Title: Temporary Public Works TechnicianDepartment: Public Works / VariousClassification: Non-ExemptStatus: Temporary / On-Call (Variable Hours)Hourly Rate: $17.00 – $23.00 per hour DOEJOB SUMMARYThe Temporary Puiblic Works Tech performs a variety of manual labor and outdoor work assignments in support of Tribal operations. This position is part of a centralized temporary worker pool and is assigned to short-term projects or coverage needs based on operational demand.ESSENTIAL DUTIESPerform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, loading, and site cleanupAssist with maintenance, repair, and improvement projects across Tribal propertiesOperate basic tools and equipment safely and effectivelySupport groundskeeping, landscaping, and facility upkeep activitiesFollow safety procedures and use required protective equipmentMaintain clean and organized work areasReport issues, hazards, or equipment concerns to supervisorsAssist with event setup, breakdown, or other labor-related assignments as neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum one (1) year of manual labor or outdoor work experienceAbility to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditionsAbility to lift and carry up to 75 poundsAbility to follow verbal instructions and work as part of a teamMust pass background check and drug/alcohol screeningPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or public worksFamiliarity with hand tools and light equipmentExperience working in a tribal or government environmentTRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENTIn accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENTIn compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.#J-18808-Ljbffr
