Summary

SAAB is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end systems engineering for advanced defense and manufacturing solutions. You will own system architecture, requirements, and integration for complex, safety-critical platforms across air, land, and naval domains. Partnering with multidisciplinary teams, you'll drive trade studies, modeling, verification, and risk management. You will mentor engineers, shape engineering best practices, and collaborate internationally, helping deliver secure, mission-critical capabilities that advance global safety and long-term societal security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end systems engineering for complex defense and manufacturing solutions
  • Define and own system architecture, requirements, and interfaces
  • Plan and oversee system integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Conduct trade studies, modeling, and analysis to optimize performance and cost
  • Ensure compliance with safety-critical and defense industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international engineering teams
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks across the system lifecycle
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level systems engineers
  • Contribute to process improvement and systems engineering best practices
  • Support customer and stakeholder technical reviews and documentation
