You will collaborate with mission experts and researchers in APL's mission-driven, ethical, and inclusive culture, with strong support for innovation, professional growth, and advanced study.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and evaluate AI/ML models to address complex national security challenges.
  • Analyze large, multi-source defense and intelligence datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with domain experts, data scientists, and engineers across APL to integrate AI into operational systems.
  • Prototype, test, and document algorithms, ensuring rigor, reproducibility, and ethical AI practices.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including government sponsors.
  • Stay current on emerging AI, data science, and defense technologies and apply them to mission problems.
  • Support proposal development, technical reports, and publications advancing the state of the art.
