Summary
Adult School Crossing Guards
Maintain a safe travel route for school-age children. Responsibilities include assisting children and other members of the general public to cross streets at intersections, directing traffic to allow emergency vehicles to proceed through intersections, controlling movement of traffic when traffic signals are inoperative, providing directions to motorists or pedestrians as requested, reporting traffic violations to the City's Magistrates Court, testifying in court as required, monitoring assigned intersections for criminal activity, traffic hazards or other dangers to children using the intersection and notifying or reporting information to supervisor, submitting accurate written reports for all accidents or other emergencies, and assisting and directing children who may be lost or injured.
Location: EPS School Zones Hours: Must be available during morning & afternoon shifts. Elementary Locations: 7:30am-8:00am AND 2:30pm-3:00pm Middle School Locations: 8:00am-8:45am AND 3:00pm-3:30pm Working Conditions: Outside, includes inclement weather Salary: $31.94/hour Reporting Relationship: School District Police Officer Designee Requirements: Must hold or obtain FBI, Criminal Check, and Child Abuse Clearances Must successfully complete Act 126 training Must successfully complete Crossing Guard training Commit to working full student school calendar Adhere to all district employee policies Evaluation: School District Police Officer Designee
