Washington, United States | Posted on 05/29/2025Seeking FOIA Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of the Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act (PA), performing all functions relating to reviewing and processing the responsive record, to include redacting all portions of record that cannot be released to the requestor, identifying the correct exemptions used, and identifying documents or other items in a file that require special processing.ResponsibilitiesProvide FOIA/PA review and processing of pending, complex FOIA casesScan FOIA support documents related to cases assigned into the FOIA databasePrepare documentation for, and draft responses to FOIA/PA requests, coordinating proposed disclosures of information for several entities within the agencyProcess submitter notices associated with specific FOIA casesProvide initial analysis of submitter objectionsRedact documents in accordance with agency/entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on recordsProcess draft responses to submitters of objections to release of information in recordsGenerate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determinationMaintain complete and detailed case notes on all assigned casesOther duties as assignedRequirementsKnowledge of Freedom of Information Act and its amendmentMinimum 5 years of experience as FOIA Analyst and in utilizing FOIA processing products such as FOIA ExpressKnowledge of reporting requirements under FOIA and the OPEN Government ActGood communication skills demonstrated by written and oral experience, qualifications, and educationProficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AdobeAbility to obtain and/or maintain Public Trust Security ClearanceMust be SOLE U.S. CitizenIn addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive total compensation package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and opportunities for bonuses based on individual and company performance.
