The purpose of the Library Technical Assistants at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to support the educational and rehabilitative efforts of the institution by providing inmates with access to a variety of informational, educational, and recreational reading materials.

Job duties include processing inmate requests and grievances related to general and law library services, supervising and assigning research duties to inmate clerks and aides, monitoring the check-out and return of library materials, performing photocopying, maintaining inventory of supplies, and managing library resources in accordance with rules and statutes.
