Summary

Innovation Programs Specialist

Provides leadership, coordination, and support for districtwide innovative programs, professional learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, and experiential learning initiatives. This position is responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that enhance student learning and educator effectiveness through innovation, environmental education, place-based learning, and community collaboration. The specialist supports grant-funded initiatives, coordinates district partnerships, and promotes the effective use of the Outdoor Learning Center as an extension of classroom instruction.

Innovation Programs and Strategic Initiatives

1. Identify emerging educational trends, innovative practices, and opportunities to enhance teaching and learning.

2. Support the implementation of pilot programs, experiential learning opportunities, and innovative instructional models

3. Collaborate with district departments to support specialty/magnet schools

4. Support the implementation and ongoing of specialty/magnet schools

5. Collaborate with campus and district leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

6. Assist campuses in leveraging innovative and grant-funded programs that expand student access to leadership development, college and career readiness experiences, community partnerships, outdoor learning, STEM opportunities, and innovative learning environments.

Professional Learning

7. Coordinate and support districtwide professional learning opportunities aligned to district initiatives and strategic priorities.

8. Facilitate workshops, academies, conferences, leadership development sessions, and summer learning opportunities.

9. Collaborate with district departments to design and deliver high-quality professional learning experiences.

10. Monitor and evaluate professional learning effectiveness through participant feedback and program outcomes.

11. Maintain records, communication, logistics, and reporting related to professional learning initiatives.

Outdoor Learning Center and Experiential Learning

12. Support the development, scheduling, and utilization of the Outdoor Learning Center.

13. Collaborate with curriculum departments and community partners to design learning experiences aligned to TEKS and district priorities.

14. Promote environmental education, place-based learning, STEM opportunities, and real-world learning experiences.

15. Monitor resources, materials, and programming to ensure safe and effective operation of the Outdoor Learning Center.

Partnerships and Community Engagement

16. Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, higher education institutions, governmental agencies, and business partners.

17. Serve as district liaison for innovation, environmental education, and experiential learning partnerships.

18. Coordinate collaborative opportunities that expand student learning and support district initiatives.

19. Represent the district in meetings, events, and partnership activities related to innovation programming.

Program Evaluation and Data Analysis

20. Collect, analyze, and report data related to innovation programs, professional learning, partnerships, and experiential learning initiatives.

21. Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on outcomes and stakeholder feedback.

22. Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries to communicate program impact.
