Summary

Part-time positionAssociate Municipal Court Judges are approved and appointed by the Mayor andMembers of the City Council, and serve a two (2) year term. They perform all tasksexpected and required of the Municipal Court Judge when called upon to substitute andserve in that capacity. They must be a licensed attorney in the State of Texas, be amember in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and must reside within the City ofWichita Falls, Texas.Resume, cover letter, and 2 letters of recommendation are required.This position requires the annual completion of sixteen (16) continuing legal education(CLE) hours within the calendar year of September 1st through August 31st . Onceappointed, eight (8) of those hours must be completed within ninety (90) days from thedate of appointment, and must specifically relate to magistrate duties and the setting ofbail and/or bonds. All CLE required of this position will be provided through the TexasMunicipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC).
