Police Department - Recruitment Notice - Ogdensburg Borough. This Recruitment Notice is issued by the Borough of Ogdensburg (“Borough”) to solicit applications from non-Police Training Commission (“PTC”) certified/Alternate Route candidates interested in working full-time as an entry level municipal Police Officer. While the Borough is a Civil Service jurisdiction, it is authorized to utilize a Civil Service examination exemption under the Alternate Route Program (“Program”) established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 11A:4-1.3 and Borough Ordinance No. 04-2024. The Program authorizes the Borough to hire individuals who have successfully completed a full Basic Course for Police Officers training course at a school approved and authorized by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Individuals who are enrolled in or who have successfully completed the academy portion of the Program are eligible to apply. Candidates must meet all local and state statutory qualifications and eligibility requirements. This solicitation is for the purpose of compiling a qualified applicant pool to fill openings due to retirements and/or future vacancies. Submission of an application does not guarantee an immediate offer of employment. The internal eligibility pool shall remain active and valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of this notice.
